Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen) is Alibaba’s AI assistant, built on Alibaba’s Qwen models. That family also ships many open-weight releases in a range of sizes and is well regarded by developers; plenty of projects in China and abroad use it as a base for their own work.

The consumer product leans toward productivity: upload a PDF or spreadsheet and ask for summaries or answers, and long documents are handled reliably. It is woven into other Alibaba products such as DingTalk and Quark. As a casual chat companion it is unremarkable — its answers are practical in tone, and it is more of a work tool than someone to chat with.
